As Director in Finance Operations, you will leverage your substantial set of skills from many years in finance, and your experience from the pharma industry. On this basis, you will let Ascendis Pharma be your playing field for designing and running a modern finance operations function.

To succeed here, you will have worked with Product Costing, Project Accounting & Controlling, implementation of systems, automation and process design. We work to find quality in processes to prepare for a fully scalable finance operations function.
With excellent relationship building skills, you will take the initiative in creating internal relationships including with Management as you will be positioned at a business-critical function.
Subsequently, you will be involved in the budgeting process working closely with the relevant Business Partner. As such, aspiring to deliver as few surprises as possible throughout project delivery.
A Finance & Product Costing expert
You will be part of a global growth-oriented biopharmaceutical company and in your position, you will be part of building a top-class Finance Operations setup.
You will be owner of key finance projects on our journey from a purely research company, to a fully commercialized global business. Always favoring quality in processes, managing complexity and ensuring smooth business processes.
This is a newly established role, where you can set your own direction and bring solutions. As such, we are adding extra competencies, and attention to Finance Operations.
Specifically, you will:
Implement a smooth accrual process within the entire organization
Challenge the setup, models and use of technology, including automation
For Project Accounting & Controlling, develop an accounting structure addressing all aspects of R&D progress and completion
Manage monthly estimates for key R&D projects in collaboration with the project manager or business partner, and participate in business partner meetings to ensure understanding and alignment on project costs and estimate to completion
For Product Costing, act as trusted advisor for our Product Costing specialist, and for Senior Management when they bring attention to this area
In collaboration with our Product Costing specialist, design a financial reporting framework for production and supply chain analysis, including relevant key performance metrics to monitor our supply chain efficiently
Always bring forward your skill set to ensure practical solutions
We are currently developing our standard costing setup and implementing it into our systems over the coming months. It is important that you in this phase are working directly with our Product Costing specialist to ensure a quality setup in procedures and detailed calculation methods

Ability to leverage prior experience to identify issues, actively engage in solution management, and interface with a variety of highly skilled stakeholders
Strong experience with presentations – ability to tell the complex story in an easy and understandable way
Highly accountable with a collaborative and proactive working style
Strong analytical and mathematical skills being able to link that to Excel and systems
As you will play an important role in implementing costing principles in Ascendis Pharma, we expect you to understand an ERP project module. We are currently implementing Microsoft D365 and you will be a key driver in designing and reviewing this area of our ERP setup.
